Weekend Recap: New Camera
For a while now Chris and I have been talking about getting a nice camera. Honestly, its been more of me telling him we need a nice one. Especially, since we are going on a few trips this July. We had a bunch of Target gift cards from our wedding, so I thought it was good idea to put them to good use by buying a camera.
I researched different cameras for a few days, and finally settled on getting a Canon. They had great reviews online and seemed amateur-user friendly. I ended up just going to my closest Target to pick out the one I was going to get because the prices weren't displayed on some online. I found one I really liked at the store. It is the Canon Rebel T6. It turned out to be $100 off of the price listed on the shelf, and about $200 less than I thought I was going to spend. YAY!
Basically long story short, I got a new camera, and I love it. Most of our weekend consisted of me bringing me camera along everywhere we went, snapping pictures of anything and everything. Luckily, I have the best husband ever, who isn't too embarrassed even when I was overly excited about a "cool" picture of grass, drawing the attention of those around me.
Here are a few of my rookie shots I took while walking around Mt. Trashmore:
After walking around the park, we drove home and got ready to go to dinner with a few of Chris' college friends. We enjoyed a nice little dinner and great conversation at a tapas restaurant at the oceanfront.
Sunday was filled with visiting our parents. First, we went to Chris' parents house to hangout with his mom. We enjoyed catching some rays and floating around the pool. We also discussed some details of the upcoming OBX trip we're taking with his side of the family. Seriously, we cannot wait for all the traveling we have going on in July.
After I got completely burnt by the pool, we went to see my dad and eat dinner at his house. Since he lives by the beach, you know I had to bring the new camera along.
When we arrived, he had peanut butter cookies baking in the oven because he knows I love them. His house smelt like a bakery, and I was definitely in heaven. He then started making homemade pizza. He's the best pizza chef and really deserves a professional pizza oven in his backyard. Seriously, just look a that delicious picture of his pizza below. #professional
After dinner, we went for a little walk on the beach with Zuzu. (The most adorable puppy in the world.) I snapped a few more pictures and tried really hard to get a crab one, but that didn't turn out so well. Anyway, here is the last of the photo overload. I probably should have titled this post: "That time I became a Paparazzo..."
Sidenote: Needless to say, we broke our Whole30 for dinner that night. Oh well. Honestly, we want to keep the Whole30 lifestyle as much as possible, but we also know things come up from time to time. Since that night, we have been back on track with Whole30 meals, including a Fish Taco Bowl that was divine! I will be sharing that recipe soon!
We are looking forward to kicking off our first July trip this weekend when we go to D.C. I'll have my camera in tow to capture all the sightseeing we do, as well as the Mets vs. Nationals game(s) we plan to attend. I know Chris is really hoping to see a Mets win or two! #LGM Here's to closing out June on a highnote, and anticipating a new month filled with even more fun and memories.
